ION:
R4 is slow so white can play somewhere else very easily but white \
is a very impatient player. As black is starting with 2 stones \
of handicap, white must be a little more patient in opening, \
until a chance to take the lead is showing up. On the other hand, \
in this corner white is trying to attack or surround black by \
all means. The proverb:"Don't surround a living group" is certainly \
true, as a living group must be feared and you should play far \
from it, your moves at close range not influencing it. If it's \
about atacking this corner, then you need to strenghten yourself \
first and R5 as this move giving you some strength. Only if after \
white R5 black is not defending, only then white can hope to \
attack this structure.
The purpose of this game is to spread your stones better (take \
the important points) and faster (be one step ahead of your opponent, \
or sente) than your opponent. White must think about this.

The bottom is no more important than the right. It is normal
for White to play R5 (usually you must answer when your opponent
attaches to your stone) and take up a position along the right.]
